Green River Festival

,

My first festival of the 2024 season was the Green River Festival, and the video department put out an awesome product despite awful weather resulting in tons of delays and chaos. We spent the weekend ironing out some kinks in the system but by and large things worked pretty well.

shoutout to Nate for taking photos

We used Klondike’s gear paired with some stuff from Jx2, including (most importantly) their big Canon box lens. We also used one of the new Ronin 4D gimbal camera units which ended up performing really well once Cedric got the feel down. John and Tracey rounded out our camera crew with Nate managing the video wall and Kevin shading. I’m lucky to have had the chance to work with such talented people this weekend.

This weekend meant a lot to me personally – when I was a young kid we attended the festival in its early days to see They Might Be Giants and had an awesome time. Cake headlining the first night was also really cool, because around that same time Pressure Chief was the first album I ever bought with my own money. In a crazy full circle moment, here’s a video of me directing Short Skirt Long Jacket.

With the first weekend behind us, we can focus our sites ahead on the Capitol Groove in Hartford this weekend. ‘Tis the season – it’s crazy and chaotic, but so fulfilling.
